There's no government like big government. okay, so the above quote is from a sunflower seed researcher worried that a sunflowerseed researcher position that had been funded by the feds was going bye bye would lead to the death of snackey goodness.

I guess the real concern is that the just shy of 3 million acres of sunflowers here in the states would be threatened by fungus if we didn't protect them. "the official comment is no comment" does come to mind.

I do think of the sunflowers of southern france more than those of north dakota for some reason...
