the long goodbye

so bobby altman died. i manged to see prarie home companion on a plane last month, but it's been a while since I've seen one of his films on the big screen. last was the long goodbye at the parkway - it remains a favorite film of mine.

in particular i love the same song being played over and over and over in different styles throughout the film. one of the best tricks I've ever noticed in a film. totally awesome.
